Have you heard of the Most Important Story Ever Told?
Come, let us join Matt and Erica, as they lean in with eager hearts, while Dad shares this wonderful story of God’s love.
What is the Most Important Story ever told?
The most important story is from the most important book; the Bible, God’s book. But it is not just a Bible story. It’s the story of God’s plan for mankind.
Long ago, God made the world and everything in it! Then God made a garden called Eden. He got it ready for a very special creation.
God created man according to His own image. He created them male and female. God placed them in an abundant garden where they are free to eat any fruit from the trees except for the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
They were close to God and enjoyed being with him. But one day . . .
Adam and Eve decided to disobey God and ate the forbidden fruit. Sin entered mankind. They hid themselves from God and when God found them, the man blamed the woman, and the woman blamed the snake who tempted them. They were sent away from the garden and the presence of God forever.
They didn’t know how awful separation from God would be. And, because they chose to sin, everyone who came after them was born sinful and separated from God, too. We all sin by doing wrong things.
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.” (Romans 3:11)
With sin came death, the eternal separation from God - hell. (Romans 6:23a) Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. (Hebrews 9:22)
But God has a plan. In His mercy and loving kindness, He sent His own Son, Jesus, to be born as a human baby through Mary and Joseph.
He lived a sinless life, as a teacher, a healer, a miracle worker, and Messiah. Until the right time came that the enemies of God accused Jesus and sentenced Him to die on the cross. He was innocent but the people yelled to crucify Him.
Jesus Christ gave up His life on the cross. He breathed His last. His life has been the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
After the third day, Jesus came to life again. He defeated death! He met with His disciples and left them with His Spirit. He went to sit at His Throne in Heaven with God the Father.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
