"Reading adds to your understanding..." - Andy Smith
To celebrate National Children’s Book Day, we asked some of our Hiyas authors to answer two simple questions.
These are the answers of Andy Smith, author of Hiyas activity books for children.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF READING?
1. It develops your imagination.
2. It adds to your understanding of other people and places
3. It increases your vocabulary and use of language.
WHAT’S THE LATEST CHILDREN’S BOOK YOU’VE READ THAT YOU REALLY LIKED?
While in the US, my 90-year-old mother learned about the new children’s book titled The Wonky Donkey. We went to a bookstore and bought several copies for her great-grandchildren. When we returned home, she started reading it. She laughed so hard that we went back to the bookstore and bought several more copies, including one for her. I wish I had a photo of her trying to read it while laughing, but I don’t.
