#RejoiceinHope: Nasaan Ka Lord?
Isa sa pinakamalaking tanong ng both the faithful and the faithless sa panahong ito ay “Lord where are You in all of these?” With many people getting sick and dying, iniwanan na ba tayo ni Lord?
These are questions that I wrestled with the Lord personally habang tinitignan ko ang number of people affected daily, and even while hearing and reading the news. As I was meditating and trying to trace the hand of God in this situation, I was reminded of this verse:
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
(Psalm 23:4)
At that moment, I prayed to the Lord and asked Him – Lord, I want to see where You are in the middle of this crisis. Open my eyes (Isaiah 32:3, 2 Kings 6:17, Psalm 119:18) and help me with my unbelief (Mark 9:24). After this, I felt a rush over my spirit. I would like to share my reflections in this time of a pandemic
The Heart of God
Ang puso ng Diyos ay puno ng pag-ibig, Siya ay pag-ibig (1 John 4:8). Sa panahong ito, natutunan ko na hindi limited ang manifested heart of God through his people. I see people, rich and poor helping our frontliners, I also see celebrities doing fundraising for the poor.
At this time, I see compassion, I see love, and I see God.
The Hands of God
Through the news, I see healthworkers at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) working tirelessly day and night for test results to be processed.
Nakikita ko ang iba’t ibang mayors, non-government organizations, and even small businesses coming up with creative ways para tulungan ang mga tao. I also see law enforcement agencies trying their best to maintain peace and order.
At this time, I see hardwork, I see perseverance, and I see God.
The Mind of God
I see how the test kits created by scientists at UP are cheaper than imported ones. I see drones in marketplaces spraying disinfectant and checking people’s temperatures.
I also see churches widen their reach through online services. I see a new kind of church emerging from the crisis.
I see wisdom, and I see God.
So where is God in all of these?
His staff and His rod are ever upon us. He is with us in the darkest valley. God is among us. His heart is made evident through His people. God will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5, Deuteronomy 31:6) and He is not far from any of us (Acts 17:27).
You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your hear. Jeremiah 29:13
He is at work in the middle of this crisis. He is replacing fear with faith. He is delivering his assurance to the anxious. He is giving peace against all the panic.
Buksan natin ang ating mga mata because His presence is ever-present in the middle of this pandemic. Purihin natin ang Diyos!
