In New Testament days, an adopted son received the rights and privileges of a natural-born son, even if previously he was a slave. He received a new name, inheriting the father's estate on equal terms with natural-born children, never to be disinherited. When you are God's child, you too receive the full rights of a natural-born child (Galatians 4:5) Thank Him that He has taken you into His family. Thank Him that you can call him "Father."
